The NSW Journalists’ Benevolent Fund considers applications from current or former NSW journalists and their families and journalists in exile looking to relocate to NSW.
MEAA members and journalists who need support are welcome to apply for assistance using the form below.
This initial form helps us understand your situation and confirm whether you’re eligible to apply to the Fund. At this stage, we ask for some basic financial information, including:
- current income and employment status
- debts and regular expenses
- dependents (if any)
- your capacity to repay an interest‑free loan, if one is offered
We also ask for a brief CV for the journalist concerned (or the relevant journalist, in the case of family applications).
Once you submit this form, you’ll be taken to a secure section of the website to complete a more detailed application. This is where you can provide further financial information and upload supporting documents such as bills or notices.
Your completed application is reviewed by the Fund’s administration officer and trustees. We aim to acknowledge receipt of your application within three working days and let you know when a decision is likely to be made.
Applications may be submitted at any time and will be considered as quickly as possible.
